The Pima Community College Athletics department set new records with 11 of the 13 teams receiving NJCAA All-Academic recognition and a new school record of 74 student-athletes earning All-Academic distinction.

Sophomore Brian Vu (Rincon HS) signed his letter of intent to Arizona Christian University. Vu played three seasons for the Aztecs and helped lead them to an NJCAA Division II National Championship in 2021. Pima Community College men’s soccer player Brian Vu (Rincon HS) closed out his decorated career with the Aztecs and will continue his collegiate career in Arizona.

Sophomore midfielder Cristian Gutierrez (Cholla HS) committed to Manhattan Christian College, an NCCAA school in Manhattan, Kansas. Gutierrez scored eight goals in 25 games played and made the go-ahead penalty kick in the 2021 National Championship game. Photo by Raymond Suarez

Pima Community College men’s soccer player Cristian Gutierrez (Cholla HS) is continuing his collegiate journey at the four-year university level.

Pima Community College men’s soccer player Fernando Garate (Salpointe Catholic HS) is continuing his education and collegiate career at a prestigious four-year university.

The NJCAA has selected Tucson and Pima Community College to host the Division II Men's and Women's Soccer National Tournaments for the second straight year. The tournament will be from November 12-18.

The National Junior College Athletic Association has selected Tucson and Pima Community College to be the hosts of two upcoming national tournaments.

Sophomore forward Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) signed his letter of intent to continue his collegiate career at Gonzaga university in Spokane, Washington. He played in all 17 games this season scoring a team-high 16 points along with nine assists. Pima Community College men’s soccer player Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) will head back to the NCAA Division I level to continue his collegiate career and educational endeavors.

Pima Community College men’s soccer player Rramon Isaku brought success to the Aztecs’ program and looks to build on it at the four-year university level.

Sophomore forward/midfielder Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) signed his letter of intent to continue his education and collegiate soccer career at Butler University, an NCAA Division I school in Indianapolis, Indiana. Pima Community College men’s soccer players Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) and Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) earned another national award for their play in the 2022 season.

Pima Community College men’s soccer players Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) and Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) left their marks on the 2022 season and earned national recognition for their efforts.

The Pima Community College women’s and men’s soccer teams will get a chance to win national championships in front of the hometown crowd for their respected NJCAA Division II National Tournaments.

Sophomore Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) put Pima ahead with his free kick goal in the 18th minute and also converted on his penalty kick attempt but the No. 3 seeded Aztecs fell to No. 1 Phoenix College 1-1 (4-3 in penalty kicks) in the NJCAA Region I, Division II Finals. The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (10-2-3) played another hard fought battle against Division II rival Phoenix College (13-1-2) as the teams needed penalty kicks to decide the NJCAA Region I, Division II Champion for the second straight year.

Sophomores Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) and- Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) earned first team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II recogntion while sophomores Brian Vu (Rincon HS) and Nicolai Moholt were selected second team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II. The Pima Community College men’s soccer team received recognition from the ACCAC conference for its play during the regular season as four players were chosen for the All-ACCAC Conference and All-Region I, Division II teams.
