Aztecs men's tennis close season at NJCAA Division I Championship

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team finished up the 2019 season on Thursday in the fourth day of the NJCAA Division I National Championship.

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team completed the third day of play at the NJCAA Division I National Championship on Wednesday at the Jim Reffkin Tennis Center.

Sophomore Chris McDaniels (Tanque Verde HS) won the second set in his No. 1 singles consolation match but fell to Chris Lawrence from East Central Community College 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (2). The Aztecs will play in four flights as part of Wednesday's round. Photo by Raymond Suarez

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team continued play at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Tuesday at the Jim Reffkin Tennis Center.

Freshman Oscar Aguilera advanced to the round of 16 in the No. 2 singles flight as he defeated Ken Herrmann from the College of Lake County 6-2, 6-0. He will play No. 7 ranked Cristobal Quevedo from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (GA) at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Photo by Stephanie Van Latum

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team opened play in the NJCAA Division I National Championship on Monday at the Jim Reffkin Tennis Center.

The Aztecs men's tennis team tied for second place at the NJCAA Region I Championships. The Aztecs and Glendale Community College each finished with four points. The Aztecs qualified for the NJCAA Division I National Championship at the Jim Reffkin Tennis Center from May 13-17. The Pima Community College men’s tennis team closed out play in the NJCAA Region I Championships on Wednesday at the Paseo Racquet Center.

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team (3-3) finished the regular season with an even record after beating Paradise Valley Community College on Tuesday at the West Campus Tennis Courts.

Sophomore Chris McDaniels (Tanque Verde HS) fought back to win a three-set match at No. 1 singles over Francisco Angulo 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 but the Aztecs fell to Glendale Community College 5-4. Pima is now 2-3 on the season. Photo by Raymond Suarez

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team (2-3) played a tough ACCAC conference match on Thursday but fell short against Glendale Community College.

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team (2-2) struggled on the road on Thursday at Mesa Community College.
