The Pima Community College men’s tennis team closed out the 2021 season on Friday in the final day of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Plano, TX.

Freshman Emanuel Robles-Serrano (Desert View HS) advanced to the Consolation Finals in the No. 6 singles flight after defeating Cainan Black from Meridian Community College 8-2 in the semifinals. The Pima Community College men’s tennis team played in a couple of consolation semifinal matches on Thursday as part of the fourth day at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

Aztecs men's tennis players Anton Nazaroff (Catalina Foothills HS) and Emanuel Robles-Serrano (Desert View HS) advanced in their respected singles flights to the Consolation Bracket Semifinals. Nazaroff beat Cameron Garrett from Meridian CC 8-2 in No. 2 singles play while Robles-Serrano downed Christian Earth from Kaskaskia College 8-3 at No. 6 singles. Photos by Raymond Suarez

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team closed out play in the NJCAA Region I Championships on Wednesday at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale.

The NJCAA Board of Regents met Thursday to discuss NJCAA student-athlete eligibility for the 2020-21 academic year. Following the Board of Regents' vote, all 2020-21 NJCAA sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) will not count towards student-athlete eligibility. The eligibility relief is provided to all NJCAA student-athletes regardless of sport season participation in the 2020-21 academic year.
