Pima Community College Athletics selected its student-athletes for its annual Lawrence R. Toledo Leadership Award on Thursday.

Sophomores Donovan Henderson and Joshua Bowen earned NJCAA All-American honors in the final day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships. Donovan took third in the triple jump and earned a personal-best jump of 15.35 meters (50-4.50). Bowen finished fifth in the Javelin at 53.91 meters (176-10). The Pima Community College men’s track & field team finished up the 2022 season on Saturday at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Saturday in Hutchinson, KS.

The Aztecs men's track & field team came away with a pair of personal-records in the second day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships. Emmanuel Corral took 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:36.89. The 4x400 relay team of Orion Barger, Nathan Plant, Gamar Garem and Tristan Spalding earned a PR with a time of 3:15.29.

The Pima Community College men’s track & field team closed out the second day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships.

Sophomore Reece Gardner (Marana HS) earned second place in the Pole Vault, NJCAA All-American status and eight team points as he finished with a personal-best of 4.81 meters (15-feet, 9.25-inches). Pima Community College track & field standout athletes Reece Gardner (Marana HS), Eliza Littlewood (Campo Verde HS) and Chalen Lozano (Marana HS) signed their letters of intent to continue their educational opportunities at four-year colleges.

The Aztecs Men's Track & Field took third place in the final team standings and claimed two NJCAA Region I titles. The Aztecs took home six region crowns total. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team closed out competition in the NJCAA Region I Championships on Thursday at Mesa Community College.

The Aztecs men's track & field team added two more Region I champions as sophomore Emmanuel Corral (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) won the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:37.86) and sophomore Donovan Henderson took first in the Long Jump at 7.01 meters (23-0). The Pima Community College men’s track & field team picked up two Region I crowns after the third day of competition at the NJCAA Region I Championships on Tuesday at Mesa Community College.

The Pima Community College men’s track & field team opened its portion of the postseason on Monday and Tuesday at the NJCAA Region I Multi-Event Championships at Mesa Community College.

Freshman Forrest Waller (Palo Verde HS) and sophomore Ad5rian Teso were two of the five Aztecs who set personal-records at the Mesa Invitational on Friday. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team competed at the Triton Invitational hosted by the University of California San Diego on Friday and Saturday in La Jolla, CA.

Sophomore Donovan Henderson earned an NJCAA Outdoor national qualifier in the Triple Jump (48-feet, 6.25-inches), freshman Tristan Spalding (middle) set his national qualifier in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 48.16 seconds and freshman Orion Barger (right) improved his national qualifier in the 400 meters with a PR time of 47.43.
