Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College softball and baseball games have been cancelled this weekend due to incoming weather conditions.

Pima Community College softball standout Alese Casper signed her national letter of intent to play at the four-year university level.

Sophomore Devynn Marshall (Shadow Ridge HS) hit an RBI triple in the 1st inning to get the Aztecs on the scoreboard but Arizona Western College's offense proved to be too much. The Pima Community College softball team’s 2019 season came to an end on Saturday in an NJCAA Region I, Division I elimination game against Arizona Western College.

Sophomore Janice Garcia (Rio Rico HS) had a two-run RBI single and finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs scored in Pima's elimination game victory. The Aztecs upset No. 2 seed Yavapai College to stay alive in the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament. The Aztecs must run the table on Saturday to claim the region crown. The Pima Community College softball team (30-27) is still alive in the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament after Friday’s day of competition.

Sophomore outfielder Maria Vanezza Caldera (Tucson HS), freshman Bianca Castillo (Rio Rico HS) and sophomore Alese Casper were selected to the All-ACCAC conference teams on Monday. The Pima Community College softball team produced three representatives on the All-ACCAC conference team on Monday.

The Aztecs softball team recognized their six sophomores after sweeping Mesa Community College and earning the final spot in the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament next week in Yuma. They finished the regular season at 29-26 overall and 25-23 in ACCAC conference play. The Pima Community College softball team (30-26, 26-23 in ACCAC) pulled off two come-from-behind victories on Saturday to close out the regular season in dramatic fashion and earn the final spot in the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament.

The Pima Community College softball team (27-26, 23-23 in ACCAC) snagged the first game on Tuesday as the Aztecs split with No. 11 Yavapai College (45-11, 36-10) in Prescott.

The Pima Community College softball team (26-25, 22-22 in ACCAC) earned an ACCAC doubleheader sweep against South Mountain Community College (22-28, 16-28) on Saturday at the West Campus Aztec Softball Field.

The Pima Community College softball team (23-22, 19-19 in ACCAC) dropped a tough doubleheader in ACCAC Division I play on Tuesday at Eastern Arizona College (27-24, 23-19).

Freshman Abril Nerey (Rio Rico HS) pitched five innings giving up one run (one earned) on eight hits with five strikeouts and no walks on 71 pitches as the Aztecs swept Scottsdale Community College. The Pima Community College softball team (23-20, 19-17 in ACCAC) earned its third straight doubleheader sweep on the road as it posted 28 runs in 10 innings played on Saturday at Scottsdale Community College (9-37, 5-33).
