Softball pitcher Castillo signs to William Penn University

Pima Community College softball pitcher Bianca Castillo (Rio Rico HS) signed her letter of intent on Wednesday to continue her education and playing career at the four-year university level.

Castillo, a sophomore pitcher, signed to William Penn University, an NAIA school in Oskaloosa, IA. The Statesmen play in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Castillo, as a freshman, was the team's workhorse on the mound as she threw 139.2 innings with an 11-11 record and a 4.91 ERA. She had 83 strikeouts and made 32 total appearances.

Castillo and the Aztecs will open the 2020 season on Tuesday, Feb. 4 against Yavapai College at the West Campus Aztec Softball Field. The ACCAC conference doubleheader will start at 1:00 p.m.
