Pima Community College softball player Amaya Turner-Vizcarra (Tucson HS) will continue her education and softball career at the next level.

  • Turner-Vizcarra, a sophomore outfielder signed her letter of intent to Adams State University, an NCAA Division II institution in Alamosa, CO. The Grizzlies play in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
  • She batted .354 with 52 hits in 147 at-bats as a freshman. She had 23 RBIs, 44 runs scored, 18 walks, 13 stolen bases and eight doubles. She also had 78 put-outs from centerfield.
  • She batted leadoff in Pima's doubleheader with Yavapai College on Tuesday. She went 1 for 3 with a walk in the first game.

Turner-Vizcarra and the Aztecs will play at Mesa Community College on Saturday in an ACCAC doubleheader. First pitch is at noon.
