Several Pima Community College Athletic teams received high honors on Thursday as programs were featured as 2019-20 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year.

Aztecs women's basketball added transfer Nikya Orange (Tanque Verde HS) to the 2020 class. She played her freshman season at Cochise College where she averaged 6.6 points and 6.0 rebounds in 31 games for the Apaches. The Pima Community College women’s basketball team added more strength in the frontcourt to its 2020-21 team.

Sophomore shooting guard Haile Gleason signed her letter of intent to play at Arizona Christian University. Gleason earned NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors as a freshman. She averaged 9.2 points as she played all 31 games as a sophomore and helped the Aztecs earn back-to-back NJCAA Region I, Division II titles. Photo by Arizona Christian University Athletics

Pima Community College women’s basketball player Haile Gleason has decided on where to continue her academic and athletic careers.

Former Pima Community College women’s basketball player RyLeigh Long signed her letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at the four-year university level.

Former Aztecs women's basketball player Nadi Carey will appear on the Season Two premiere of NBC's 'The Titan Games' on Monday, May 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Former Pima Community College women’s basketball player Na’Derra “Nadi” Carey (Canyon del Oro/Flowing Wells HS) was selected to be part of NBC’s show “The Titan Games.” She will be on the Season 2 premiere on Monday, May 25 starting at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Aztecs women's basketball sophomore forward Hallie Lawson (Campo Verde HS) signed her letter of intent to play at Adams State University, an NCAA Division II school in Alamosa, CO. Lawson was named first team NJCAA All-American this season and earned NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors while playing both basketball and women's golf as a freshman. The Pima Community College women’s basketball program signed three more recruits for its 2020 class.

Buena High School duo Lydia Griffith and Jaslyn Booker signed letters of intent to play for the Aztecs women's basketball team starting in the 2020-21 season.
