Aztecs women's basketball's Perez gets second nod as ACCAC Player of the Week

Pima Community College women's basketball player Alyssa Perez (Marana HS) produced some big time play for the Aztecs as she earned ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16.

  • Perez, a sophomore guard, helped the Aztecs go 2-0 with wins over Mesa Community College and South Mountain Community College. She shot 50 percent from the floor (10 for 20) and averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
  • She has started in all 26 games and is averaging 10.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

The Aztecs are on the road at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
