Aiona Johnson earns ACCAC Division II Player of the Week honors

Pima Community College women's basketball player Aiona Johnson (Navajo Prep, NM) was a key factor in its two wins last week and received recognition for her play.

  • Johnson, a sophomore guard, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of November 28-December 3. She averaged 14 points, 6.5 rebounds and added three blocks, three assists and one steal in Pima's wins at Phoenix College and Yavapai College.
  • She finished with five points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks in Wednesday's 75-62 win over Scottsdale Community College.
  • Johnson is averaging 8.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists so far this season.

The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Gymnasium on Saturday when they host Cochise College at 4:00 p.m.
