The Pima Community College women's soccer team (11-1-1, 11-1-1 in ACCAC) had its seven-game winning streak snapped but a goal late in the second half prevented a loss.
The Aztecs scored in the 77th minute and neither team scored in the two 10 minute overtimes as the No. 6 Aztecs tied with No. 18 Phoenix College 1-1 on Tuesday at Kino North Stadium.
After a scoreless first half and much of the second half, Phoenix College scored the first goal of the game in the 75th minute. The Aztecs came right back two minutes later when sophomore Maria Mata (Desert View HS) scored on an assist from fellow sophomore Prescilla Gonzalez (Buena HS).
The Aztecs held a slight advantage as they outshot Phoenix College 13-10 for the game. Freshman Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished the game with nine saves.
The Aztecs are off until next Tuesday when they play at Glendale Community College. The game will start at 1:00 p.m.
