Aztec Volleyball Fall in Straight Sets vs. Scottsdale CC

The Pima Community College volleyball team (8-15, 2-9 in ACCAC) dropped its fourth straight match on Friday as it fell to Scottsdale Community College (7-11, 4-8) at the West Campus gymnasium.

The Aztecs never led in the match and lost in straight sets 25-16, 25-19, 25-17. They were swept by the Artichokes in their head-to-head meetings this season. Pima lost in straight sets last month in Scottsdale.

Freshman Trae Johnson (Highland HS) finished the match with a team-high 10 kills. Fellow freshman Kaitlynn Maxon (Cienega HS) had nine kills. Freshman Kayli Riesgo (Cienega HS) posted 19 assists while freshman Hannah Gerard (Canyon del Oro HS) finished with 18 assists and nine digs. Freshman Anissa Conrad (Sahuaro HS) contributed with 28 digs.

The Aztecs play four of their final five matches on the road to close out the regular season. They will travel to Prescott to play at Yavapai College on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
