The Pima Community College volleyball team (1-3) closed out play in the New Mexico Military Institute Classic on Saturday.

  • The Aztecs defeated Garden City Community College in straight sets 25-21, 25-16, 25-19. Freshman Jade Romine (Canyon del Oro HS) led the Aztecs with nine kills. Fellow freshman Madi Nash (Sahuaro HS) had six kills and 11 digs. Freshman Grace Adams (Sabino HS) had four aces. The Aztecs finished the match with 11 aces.
  • The Aztecs closed out the NMMI Classic falling to Seward County Community College in straight sets 25-15, 25-16, 25-11. Nash finished the match with eight kills while sophomore Kaitlin Schmich (Mountain View HS) had nine digs. Sophomore Lyrica Tavesi (Pima HS) posted four kills and three blocks.

The Aztecs open ACCAC conference play on Wednesday when they play at Phoenix College. The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. start time.
