Nash, Romine and Hockett produce double-doubles as Aztecs volleyball upsets No. 4 Glendale CC

The Pima Community College volleyball team (11-11, 6-6 in ACCAC) scored the biggest victory of the season on Wednesday as it upset No. 4 ranked Glendale Community College (20-4, 9-3).

  • The Aztecs rallied after dropping the first set to down the Gauchos in four games (18-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-19).
  • Sophomore Madi Nash (Sahuaro HS), Jade Romine (Canyon del Oro HS) and Kaleigh Hockett (Desert Mountain HS) each produced a double-double in the match. Nash led the Aztecs with 16 kills and 19 digs. Romine posted 15 kills and 18 digs while Hockett finished with 44 assists and 11 digs.
  • Sophomore Emily Robinson (Cienega HS) also finished in double figures with 10 kills as well as five blocks. Freshman Aydalis Felix (Rincon HS) had 21 digs.

The Aztecs will play their final home match of the regular season on Friday against South Mountain Community College at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. First serve is at 7:00 p.m.
