Aztecs Women's Cross Country Competes at ACU Invitational

The Pima Community College women's cross country team took part in the ACU Invitational on Saturday in Glendale.

  • Freshman Mykayla Tarwater (Tucson Magnet HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs as she took 15th place out of 35 competitors in the 5K (3.1 mile) race with a time of 21 minutes, 59.3 seconds. She was the fourth among ACCAC competitors.
  • Freshman Emalyn Brown (Canyon del Oro HS) placed 19th with a time of 22:28.5 while freshman Oksana Giron (Sunnyside HS) took 22nd at 22:43.5. Freshman Candice Pocase (Santa Rita HS) was 23rd as she crossed the finish line at 22:47.3.
  • The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA Region I Championships on Friday at the Glendale Heroes Regional Park in Glendale.
