Miranda, Espinoza and Corrales compete at NJCAA Division I Championships
The Pima Community College men's cross country team was represented at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Saturday at the UNM Golf Course in Albuquerque, NM.
- Sophomore Juan Miranda (Flowing Wells HS) finished 125th out of 343 runners as he closed out the 8K (4.97 mile) race with a time of 27 minutes, 21.0 seconds. He set a 5:30 pace.
- Sophomore Aaron Espinoza (Sunnyside HS) took 133rd overall and crossed the finish line with a time of 27:28. He set a 5:32 pace.
- Freshman Alex Corrales (Nogales HS) was 247th and had a time of 29:17 setting a pace of 5:54.
- Miranda and Espinoza earned third team All-Region honors at the NJCAA Region I Championships. Women's cross country sophomore Irana Sanchez (Cienega HS) earned All-ACCAC Honorable Mention status at the ACCAC Conference Championships.
The men's and women's cross country runners will compete in the track & field season beginning in January.
