Dennis ties for fifth place at Estrella Mountain Invitational
The Pima Community College men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Estrella Mountain CC Invitational at the Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, AZ. It was the fourth time the Aztecs had placed fourth out of the five tournaments played.
Pima is now tied for third place with Eastern Arizona College in the ACCAC Conference standings. The Aztecs shot a team-score of 592 (297-295). They finished four strokes behind Eastern Arizona College for third place (588). South Mountain Community College took first place with a 562 while Mesa Community College placed second with 569.
Wil Dennis earned medalist honors as he finished tied for fifth place with a two-under par 142 (72-70). Frankie Wu (Canyon del Oro HS) placed 11th in the individual standings with one-over par 145 (74-71). Anthony Moncada (Tucson Magnet HS) shot a two-day total of 152 (74-78) which put him 21st while Aaron Ramonett (Tucson Magnet HS) tied for 22nd as he finished with a 153 (77-76).
The Aztecs will play their final regular season tournament in the Paradise Valley CC Invitational at the Gold Canyon Golf Course (Sidewinder course) on April 13-14 in Gold Canyon, AZ. The teams will tee-off at noon on both days.
