Aztecs Men's Golf Earn Fourth Consecutive Second Place Finish at Scottsdale Invitational

The Pima Community College men's golf team closed out its final regular season tournament with its fourth consecutive second place finish on Tuesday.

The Aztecs finished tied for second place with a two-day total of 571 (286-285) at the Scottsdale CC Invitational at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City, AZ. Eastern Arizona also took second with a score of 571 (279-292). South Mountain Community College took first place with a total of 557 (282-275). The Aztecs were in fourth place after the first round.

Will Dennis had the best total for the Aztecs as he finished tied for fourth place in the individual tournament. He shot a five under-par 139 for the tournament. He shot a one-under par 71 on Monday and closed it out with a four-under par 68.

Sophomore David Rauer (Cienega HS) finished tied for 12th place with a one-under par 143. He shot a one-over par 73 in the first round and a two-under par 70 on Tuesday.

Sophomores Wilfred Tewawina (Camp Verde HS) and Frankie Wu (Canyon del Oro HS) each finished the tournament tied for 21st. Tewawina shot a 147 (75-72) and Wu also closed it out with a 147 (72-75).

The Aztecs will compete in the Region I Championships from Thursday-Sunday, Apr. 28 to May 1 at the Gold Canyon Golf Course in Gold Canyon, AZ.
