Gorman, Romero and Heredia Net Goals in Men's Soccer Win

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (5-0-1, 5-0-1 in ACCAC) found themselves in a battle on Thursday against Scottsdale Community College at the Kino North Grandstand.

The No. 3 ranked Aztecs scored two unanswered goals in the second half to beat Scottsdale 3-1.

Pima took a 1-0 lead after sophomore Robert Gorman (Nogales HS) scored on a rebounded header with an assist from sophomore Niels Kool in the 33rd minute. The Aztecs led 1-0 at halftime.

Scottsdale tied the game with a goal in the 50th minute but the Aztecs responded three minutes later after sophomore Jason Romero found the back of the net with his shot. Sophomore Angel Heredia (pictured) added an insurance goal in the 87th minute to help seal it.

Freshman Taylor Anderson (Salpointe Cathlolic HS) finished the game with two saves.

The Aztecs will play Paradise Valley Community College on Saturday at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix. Game is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
