Gonzalez Has a Goal and an Assist as Men's Soccer Shut Out Paradise Valley

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (6-0-1, 6-0-1 in ACCAC) remained undefeated on Saturday after it beat Paradise Valley Community College.

The No. 3 ranked Aztecs produced five different goal scorers in their 5-0 shutout win at the Reach 11 Sports Complex.

The Aztecs took control of the game in the first half. Sophomore Angel Heredia put the Aztecs on the board with a goal in the 21st minute. Sophomore Alejandro Gonzalez (Flowing Wells HS) scored his goal in the 36th minute and had an assist in freshman Lorenzo Rodriguez's goal in the 42nd minute to make it 3-0 at the break.

Freshman Rogelio Canez (Nogales HS) netted his goal in the 63rd minute with an assist from sophomore Robert Gorman (Nogales HS) and freshman Willy Villaman (Tucson Magnet HS) helped seal it with his goal in the 74th minute assisted by sophomore Sadam Ali (Rincon HS).

The win sets up what should be another great match-up between the Aztecs and No. 6 ranked Yavapai College on Tuesday at Kino North Stadium. If the rankings stay the way they are, this would be the first time these teams have played with the Aztecs being the higher ranked team. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.

Pima goals: Heredia 21st minute; Gonzalez 36th minute; Rodriguez (Gonzalez) 42nd minute; Canez (Gorman) 63rd minute; Villaman (Ali) 74th minute.
