Romero and Kool Net Goals as Aztecs Men's Soccer Blank Glendale

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (16-2-2, 16-2-2 in ACCAC) closed out the regular season with its third straight shutout win on Saturday in Glendale.

The Aztecs defeated Glendale Community College 2-0 as they outscored their opponents 15-0 in the final three games; all on the road. The Aztecs had six shutout win during the regular season.

Sophomore Jason Romero scored his team-leading 24th goal of the season in the 38th minute. Sophomore Niels Kool added an insurance goal with an assist from fellow sophomore Roberto Gorman (Nogales HS) just before the end of the half in the 44th minute.

The Aztecs outshot Glendale 6-2 and freshman goalkeeper Taylor Anderson finished with two saves. He had 59 saves for the regular season.

The Aztecs will be the No. 3 seed in the Region I, Division I tournament. They will host No. 6 Mesa Community College at Kino North Stadium on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
