Cooper's hat trick helps men's soccer topple Chandler-Gilbert

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (5-1-1) received a big boost from sophomore Chris Cooper (University HS) on Saturday at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (3-3).

Cooper had a hat trick and an assist in Pima's 4-2 win over the Coyotes.

The Coyotes scored first in the 5th minute but the Aztecs responded a minute later when Cooper hit a penalty shot in the 6th.

Cooper gave the Aztecs the lead in the 18th minute with an assist from sophomore Julian Gaona (Tucson HS). Pima led 2-1 at the break.

Cooper wasn't finished as he scored in the 59th minute with an assist from Hugo Kametani. Gaona scored his goal in the 86th minute with an assist from Cooper.

Freshman goalkeeper David Silva finished the game with four saves.

The Aztecs will play their third straight road game on Tuesday when they play Glendale Community College at Pioneer Park in Peoria at 7:00 p.m.
