Softball's Mia Casadei, Analisa Gomez and Alejandra Castro commit to four-year schools in Arizona

Pima Community College softball players Mia Casadei (Tanque Verde HS), Analisa Gomez (University HS) and Alejandra Castro signed their letters of intent to four-year universities.

  • Casadei, a sophomore outfielder, committed to play at Ottawa University Arizona, an NAIA institution in Surprise. The Spirit play in the Golden State Athletic Conference. Casadei is batting .336 with 50 hits in 149 at-bats with 38 runs scored, 33 RBIs, 15 doubles and three triples. Casadei also has a fielding percentage of .976.
  • Gomez, a sophomore infielder, signed to play at Park University, an NAIA school in Gilbert, AZ. The Buccaneers play in the California Pacific Conference. Gomez is batted .350 this season with 64 hits in 183 at-bats. She also has 57 runs scored, 32 RBIs, 22 walks, 13 doubles and three triples.
  • Castro, a sophomore infielder/catcher, also signed her letter of intent to Park University Gilbert. She is hitting .333 with six home runs and 36 RBIs. Castro also has 41 runs scored, 25 walks and 13 doubles. She has produced a fielding percentage of .941 this season.
  • Five Aztecs have signed their letters of intent as sophomore Elise Munoz (Salpointe Catholic HS) signed to Jarvis Christian University in Hawkins, TX and sophomore Stephanie Tapia (Cibola HS) is going to Texas A&M University Commerce.

The Aztecs locked up the No. 3 seed for the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament and will close the regular season on Saturday at Glendale Community College. First game starts at noon.
