Pilgrim defends Indoor National Title in High Jump

The Pima Community College men's and women's Track & Field teams competed at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in Albuquerque, NM on Friday and Saturday.

Kaysee Pilgrim (SO-Barry Goldwater HS) won the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National High Jump title with a jump of 5' 10-1/4".  This is her second indoor national championship title, defending her high jump win from last year. Her mark also sets the indoor school record for Pima Community College.

Also competing well were Brianna Rodriguez (SO-Cienega), who finished 6th in the women's long jump with a mark of 18' 2.25" and Juliette Cossey (FR-Sandra Day O'Conner), who also finished 6th in the triple jump with a leap of 37'11.75".

The men's 4,000 meter distance medley relay team of Amanuel Logo (FR-Catalina Magnet), Steven Carter (SO-Desert View), Cruz Rodriguez (SO-Empire), and Mark Bennett (FR-Marana HS) finished 9th overall with a time of 10:37.94. 

In team scoring, the women finished 12th overall with 16 points.  The men had a rough outing and did not score any team points.
