The Pima Community College men's and women's track & field teams compete at the ACCAC Conference Meet on Saturday at Glendale Community College.

The Aztecs finished in second place as they beat Glendale Community College, Paradise Valley Community College and Mesa Community College in points but lost to Central Arizona College.

The Pima jumps squad took over the meet as they secured six first-place finishes. In women's competition, sophomore Hannah Bartz (Mountain View HS) took first place in the long and triple jump. She finished the long jump with a mark of 18-feet, 4.75-inches and the triple jump at 36-0. Freshman Megan Schiffmacher earned first place in the high jump at 5-4.25.

On the men's side, sophomore Sam Shoultz (Corona del Sol HS) took first place in the high jump with a mark of 6-feet, 10.50-inches. Fellow sophomore Treyshon Malone (Yuma Catholic HS) took home first place in the long jump with a mark of 23-7.50. Freshman Cam Duffy (Peoria HS) won the triple jump with a leap of 47-7.50 which put him at No. 5 in Pima school history.

"Our goal is to win all six jumps at the regional championships and to my knowledge that has never been done in school history," Pima jumpers coach Chad Harrison said. "We have had that on our minds since last season and we were unable to complete it last year.

"We have had some really late, hard focused practices and this team is very disciplined. It's been tough but we believe that together we can do it."

Sophomore Melissa Cotsonas (Mountain View HS) earned a national qualifying time in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 06.17 seconds.

Sophomore Alex Palacios (Mountain View HS) took first place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.28 seconds.

The Aztecs will host the Aztec Outdoor Classic at the West Campus track next Saturday. Events will begin at 10:00 a.m.
