Valles Finishes in 9th Place at Pima Invitational
The Pima Community College women's golf team closed out its second tournament of the season with a second straight third place finish.
The Aztecs closed out the Pima Invitational with a team score of 709 (349-360) on Monday at the Silverbell Golf Course. Mesa Community College took first place with a 610 and South Mountain Community College was second with 659. The Aztecs finished ahead of Chandler-Gilbert Community College (717) and Estrella Mountain Community College (1032).
Sophomore Paige Valles (Catalina Foothills HS) finished the tournament in ninth place with a two-day score of 164 (79-85). Freshman Casey Morinelli (Mountain View HS) shot a 178 (86-92) which put her in 15th place while Rachel Blount (Sahuaro HS) finished in 16th place with a total of 182 (91-91). Carley Nelson (Marana HS) shot a 185 (93-92) which put her in 17th place.
The Aztecs will compete in the Mesa Invitational on Mar. 4-5 at the Dobson Ranch Golf Course in Mesa. The teams begin to tee-off at 1:00 p.m. on both days.
