Aztecs women's golf take 5th at Estrella Mountain Invitational
The Pima Community College women's golf team closed out its fifth tournament of the season as the Aztecs finished in 5th place at the Estrella Mountain Invitational held at the Aguila Golf Course in Phoenix.
The Aztecs finished seven-strokes better in the second day of competition and closed out the tournament with a team score of 753 (380-373). They were nine-strokes behind Chandler-Gilbert for 4th place (744). Mesa Community College took 1st (615) and South Mountain Community College placed 2nd (662).
Jessica Nordby (Walden Grove HS) had the top individual finish for the Aztecs as she took 11th place with a two-day total of 174 (88-86). Paige Valles (Catalina Foothills HS) finished in 14th place with a score of 176 (86-90). Carley Nelson (Marana HS) placed 19th at 200 (102-98) and Casey Morinelli (Mountain View HS) shot a 203 (104-99) that put her in 20th place.
The Aztecs will compete in the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational on Apr. 6-7 at the Toka Sticks Golf Course in Laveen, AZ. The teams will begin to tee-off at noon on both days.
