Aztecs women's golf sit in 14th place after first day at NJCAA Nationals

The Pima Community College women's golf team struggled in the first day of the NJCAA National Tournament on Monday at the Longbow Golf Course in Mesa.

The Aztecs finished the day with a team score of 370 putting them in 14th place in the team standings.

Paige Valles (Catalina Foothills HS) finished the first round with an 11-over par 83 which put her tied for 36th place in the individual standings. Rachel Blount (Sahuaro HS) closed out her day shooting an 88 putting her tied for 49th. Carley Nelson (Marana HS) finished the day with a 97 while Casey Morinelli (Mountain View HS) shot a 102.

The second round of the NJCAA National Championship will be tomorrow at the Longbow Golf Course.
