Aztecs women's golf remain in 16th place after second round at NJCAA Championship

The Pima Community College women's golf team closed out the second round of play at the NJCAA National Championship on Tuesday.

The Aztecs improved their collective score as they shot 43-strokes better and finished with a 344. They remain in 16th place with a two-day total of 731 (387-344).

Sophomore Desiree Hong (Sahuaro HS) shot an eight-over par 79 and is in 14th place in the individual standings with a score of 156 (77-79).

Freshman Abby Miller (Ironwood Ridge HS) shot an 84 on the day and has a total of 179 (95-84). Sophomore Samantha Hacker (Sahuaro HS) had the biggest turnaround of the day for the Aztecs as she improved by 18-strokes. She closed out the round with an 81 and has a score of 180 (99-81). Freshman Julianna Perez (Tucson HS) has a score of 216 (116-100).

The third round of play will be tomorrow at the Chateau Elan Golf Club in Duluth, GA.
