Distance Medley Relay team earns NJCAA National Qualifier at GCC Indoor Invitational

The Pima Community College women's track & field team competed in its fourth meet of the Indoor season on Saturday at the GCC Indoor Invitational.

  • The No. 15 ranked Aztecs earned another NJCAA national qualifying time and now have 11 total national qualifying times and marks so far this season.
  • The Distance Medley Relay team of freshmen Linda Rivero (Desert View HS), Tayler Crane, Alyssa Perez (Agua Fria HS) and Reatta Danhof (Ironwood Ridge HS) set a national qualifier after they finished second with a time of 13 minutes, 04.72 seconds.
  • Freshman Larissa Blanchard (Perry HS) took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.90 seconds as she improved on her qualifying time by three seconds. She is No. 2 in Indoor season school history.

The Aztecs will compete in their final Indoor season meet on Friday at the NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff. Events begin at 2:00 p.m.
