Aztecs Baseball Drop Single Game Against Cochise College

The Pima Community College baseball team (18-10) dropped a non-conference game at the West Campus on Tuesday. The Aztecs fell 11-2 to Cochise College (16-9).

The Aztecs were shut out for six innings but sophomore Hunter Green (Sahuaro HS) put the Aztecs on the board when he hit an RBI triple to score freshman Manny Ramirez (Bisbee HS) in the seventh inning. Pima trailed 6-1.

Sophomore Jacob Northrup (Sahuaro HS) drew a bases load walk in the eighth inning but the Aztecs couldn't capitalize after that. The Apaches scored two runs in the eighth inning and three in the ninth.

Green finished the game 2-for-4 with an RBI while freshman Frankie Ortiz (Ironwood Ridge HS) went 1-for-1 with a run scored. Pima finished the game with seven hits.

Freshman Trevelle Hill (Tucson Magnet HS) took the loss and dropped to 5-3 on the season. He went five innings giving up six runs (four earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Freshman Ernesto Romero (Salpointe Catholic HS) pitched in relief going three and two-third innings giving up four runs (four earned) on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

The Aztecs will play a single game on Thursday against Seminole State College (OK) at South Mountain Community College. The game will be at 1:00 p.m.
