Bio

Started at Pima: 2016
Education: Bachelor's degree in Education from Sterling College in Sterling, KS.
Coaching Experience: Coach Toia has been coaching for 22 years. He was the head baseball coach at Ironwood Ridge High School for six years (2011-2016) where he compiled a reocrd of 128-54-2. His 128 wins was the most in school history. His teams made the playoffs in five the six years he was there. In 2013, his team finished third in the state and broke the single season wins record which he had held and broken the previous two years with 26 wins. They also ranked 25th in the nation. In 2016, his team also finished third in the state. In 2013 and 2016, he was selected the Southern Arizona Division II Coach of the Year.
Coach Toia started his career in 1994 as the Hutchinson High School Freshman Coach. In 1996 he returned to Sterling College as an assistant. He took over as the head varsity coach at Canton-Galva High School in 2001. In 2006 he became the varsity head coach at Anderson County High School. 
Highlights: Coach Toia graduated from Amphitheater High School in 1989 and lettered in football, wrestling and baseball. He played at Central Arizona College and went to Sterling College. He was the Warriors' team captain and earned MVP honors his senior season. He was named first-team All-Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) as a shortstop in 1992 and a second baseman in 1993. Coach Toia was also selected to the All-Region team in 1993.
Personal: Coach Toia teaches at Rattlesnake Ridge in the Marana School District. He has two daughters named Madison and Malia.
