Football standout Cotton named NJCAA All-American

Pima Community College football standout Jeff Cotton (Mountain View HS) earned another honor for his play during the 2016 season.

Cotton, a sophomore wide receiver, was named NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American Offense on Thursday.

Cotton had 837 yards receiving on 43 receptions with six touchdowns as he played and started all nine games for the Aztecs this season. He was first in the conference with 93.0 yards receiving per game.

He was named first team All-WSFL and first team All-Region at wide receiver last month.

"It was one of my goals coming into the season to be one of the best wide receivers," Cotton said. "The season didn't go as well as a team but me personally I almost reach all my goals and being an All-American was one of them.

Cotton hasn't decided on a four-year university but he's gotten interest from University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP), Southeast Missouri State, Kansas, Missouri Southern and Southeast Louisiana.
