Martion Has 27 Points, 11 Boards but Aztecs Men's Basketball Fall to Phoenix College
The Pima Community College men's basketball team (4-1, 1-1 in ACCAC) played in a close game on Saturday at the West Campus but fell short in the outcome.
The Aztecs lost 88-85 to No. 2 ranked Phoenix College as they suffered their first loss of the season.
Down 43-36 at halftime, the Aztecs closed the gap and even took the lead at 65-64 with six minutes left in the game. Phoenix came back and held a four-point lead down the stretch. One of their latest being 83-79 with 28 seconds left in the game.
Sophomore Justice Martion finished the game with his fourth straight double-double as he had 27 points and 11 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Cameron Volk (Tucson Magnet HS) contributed with 14 points and six rebounds.
The Aztecs will play a non-conference game on Tuesday against Midland Texas College at the West Campus. The game will start at 6:00 p.m.
