The Pima Community College men's basketball team (6-8) were eliminated from competition in the Modesto Junior College Tournament on Thursday.
The Aztecs fell against Contra Costa College (6-5) 91-82 in a consolation bracket match-up. The Aztecs trailed 44-41 at halftime and were outscored 47-41 in the second half.
Sophomore Yusef Shehata (Amphitheater HS) scored a team-high 28 points while freshman Jake Anastasi (Cactus Shadows HS) contributed with 12 points.
The Aztecs will be on holiday break until Wednesday, Jan. 6 when they host Arizona Western College at the West Campus. The game will starts at 7:30 p.m.
