Aztec Men's Basketball Drop 138 Points in Opener
The Pima Community College men's basketball team (1-0) showed off its quickness and athleticism in the first regular game of the 2016-17 season on Thursday.
The Aztecs defeated 3 Kings Prep Academy from Windsor Ontario, Canada 138-63. Pima led 83-26 at halftime.
The Aztecs finished with 26 assists and 18 steals on the game as well as produced five players in double figures.
Freshman Isaiah Murphy (Cienega HS) scored a team-high 24 points going 11 for 14 from the field. Sophomores Deion James (Empire HS) had 21 points, six rebounds and six assists. Sophomore Damon Dubots and freshman Ilunga Moise (Raymond S. Kellis HS) each contributed with 17 points. Freshman Alize Travis posted 12 points. Sophomore Jacob Anastasi (Cactus Shadows HS) and sophomore Emilio Acedo (Salpointe Catholic HS) each finished with nine points.
The Aztecs will continue their non-conference schedule when they play Vegas Impact Academy at the West Campus Gymnasium on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
