The Pima Community College men's basketball team (15-8, 9-6 in ACCAC) broke away in the second half in its win on the road at Eastern Arizona College (11-12, 4-11).

There was plenty of offense as the Aztecs defeated the Gila Monsters 111-100 on Saturday in Thatcher.

The Aztecs outscored the Gila Monsters 56-45 in the second half. The game was tied at 55-55 at halftime.

Sophomore Emilio Acedo (Salpointe Catholic HS) caught fire as he scored a team-high 36 points and hit eight 3-pointers on the night. Fellow sophomore Deion James (Empire HS) finished with 26 points and nine rebounds while sophomore Damon Dubots had 23 points and eight rebounds.

Freshman Isaiah Murphy (Cienega HS) contributed with 16 points and seven rebounds and Alize Travis had two points with nine rebounds and nine assists off the bench.

The Aztecs earned a regular season head-to-head sweep against the Gila Monsters. Pima won 94-88 last month at the West Campus.

The Aztecs will return to the West Campus on Wednesday when they host South Mountain Community College at 7:30 p.m.

The Pima Community College Pep Band will play at the game.
