Seven score in double figures as Aztecs men's basketball beats Benedictine University Mesa JV
The Pima Community College men's basketball team (2-0) earned a dominating win on Thursday against Benedictine University Mesa JV.
- The No. 15 ranked Aztecs defeated the Redhawks 130-61.
- The Aztecs produced seven scorers in double figure and were led by freshman Cooper Burbank (Chinle HS), who finished with 19 points. Freshman Traivar Jackson fell short of a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds while freshman Damon McDowell Jr. also netted 15 points.
- Sophomore Daniel Moody (Walden Grove HS) had 14 points, seven rebounds and three blocks and freshman Itury Kitt (Eastpointe HS) posted 13 points and five rebounds.
- Freshman Jalen Johnson finished with 11 points while freshman Griffin Effenberger flirted with a triple-double with 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday when they host the Hillcrest Post-Grad team on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
