Fiore stands tied for second place as Aztecs men's golf take lead at Regionals

The Pima Community College men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Region I, Division I Tournament and have a grip on first place.

Though the Aztecs struggled in the second round of play on Friday, they hold a three-stroke lead with a two-day score of 613 (296-317) at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort. Scottsdale Community College is in second place with 616 (306-310) while Eastern Arizona College sits in third with 617 (297-320).

Freshman Johnny Fiore (Marana HS) is tied for second place with a two-day total of 152 (72-80). He is four-strokes off from the lead. Sophomore Jonah Daniels (Chaparral HS) is tied for fifth place with a 153 (76-77) while freshman Colton Gage (Cienega HS) sits in seventh place at 154 (73-81).

Sophomore Nick St. Clair (Higley HS) is tied for eighth place after he shot a 156 (75-81). Freshman Cooper Cordova (Mountain View HS) is in 15th place with a 161 (82-79).

The Aztecs are aiming for their third straight Region I, Division I title and continue play tomorrow at Gold Canyon. The teams begin to tee-off at noon.
