The Pima Community College men's soccer team (1-0, 1-0 in ACCAC conference) rallied in the second half on Tuesday in its season opener at Kino North Stadium.
The No. 7 ranked Aztecs trailed 1-0 at halftime but came back to score four goals in their 4-2 win against South Mountain Community College.
Freshman Willy Villaman (Tucson Magnet HS) scored on a cross-pass from fellow freshman Diego Morales (Sabino HS) to tie the game in the 62nd minute. Less than 30 seconds later, Villaman scored on another cross-pass in front of the net, this time assisted by sophomore Alejandro Gonzalez (Flowing Wells HS) to give the Aztecs the lead for good.
Sophomore Jason Romero netted two insurance goals in the 83rd and 88th minutes. Villaman and Lorenzo Rodriguez had the assists.
The Aztecs outshot South Mountain 21-2 for the game. Freshman goalkeeper Taylor Anderson (Salpointe Catholic HS) had one save.
The Aztecs will play at Phoenix College on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
