PCC men's tennis fall against Mesa CC

The Pima Community College men's tennis team were shut out at the Tucson Racquet Club on Tuesday against Mesa Community College.

Richie Foitik (Santa Rita HS) played a close second game but fell in the end to Harry Busby in the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-3. Francisco Ton (Nogales HS) also played a tight second game in his No. 3 singles match but lost to Vitalli Kotelianets 6-1, 6-3. Foitik and Ton lost in the No. 1 doubles match to Busby and Max Wightman 8-4.

Mathieu Lancaster (Marana HS) lost in his No. 2 singles match to Wightman 6-2, 6-1. Juan Bravo (Nogales HS) fell to Andy Nguyen 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 singles match. Lancaster and Bravo were shutout by Kotelianets and Kevin McMahon in the No. 2 doubles match-up 8-0.

Josh Henkel (Canyon del Oro HS) lost to Nick Silvestri in the No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-1 while Aaron Vazquez (Nogales HS) lost 6-1, 6-0 to McMahon in the No. 6 singles match. Henkel and No. 3 doubles partner Aldo Amaya (San Luis HS) fell to Silvestri and Nguyen 8-1.

The Aztecs will play at Glendale Community College on Tuesday, Mar. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
