Aztecs Men's Tennis Drop Match Against Mesa CC

The Pima Community College men's tennis team (3-5, 1-3 in ACCAC) dropped its ACCAC conference match on Thursday at the Tucson Racquet Club against No. 5 ranked Mesa Community College. The Aztecs fell 9-0.

Freshman Marc Avalos (Sunnyside HS) made the first set close against Sacha Madlica but fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Freshman Dalton Reisig (Catalina Foothills HS) dropped his No. 2 singles match against Linus Holthey 6-1, 6-0. Avalos and Reisig lost at No. 1 doubles to Madlica and Holthey 8-2.

Freshman Raj Singh Kaila (Yuma Union HS) fell in his No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0 against David Felix while sophomore Jesus Lopez was shut out in his No. 4 singles match against Shimon Murukami 6-0, 6-0. Singh Kaila and Lopez lost in their No. 2 doubles match 8-0 to Murukami and Max Wightman.

Sophomore Landon Trejo (St. David HS) fell against Wightman at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0 and freshman Curtis Jeffery dropped his No. 6 singles match to Eduardo Couto 6-1, 6-0. The No. 3 doubles duo of Trejo and Jeffery lost to Andres Loaiza and Matt Fisher 8-1.

The Aztecs will be back on the road when they play an ACCAC match at Glendale Community College on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
