Corona named NFCA All-West Region

Pima Community College softball player Margarita Corona (Tucson HS) was recognized for her play this season in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Corona, a sophomore catcher, was named second team NFCA All-West Region (NJCAA Division I).

Corona hit .462 in 186 at-bats. She played in all 59 games for the Aztecs as they finished the season at 38-21 overall. She led the Aztecs with 14 home runs and was second in the ACCAC conference with 90 RBIs. Corona produced 86 hits with 24 doubles and 41 runs scored.

The NFCA All-Americans will be released later this month.

Corona signed her national letter of intent to play at Stephen F. Austin State University, an NCAA Division I institution in Nacogdoches, TX, starting in the fall.
