Four Aztecs named USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-Americans
The Pima Community College men's and women's track & field programs produced four NJCAA All-Americans on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association list.
Sophomore Collin Dylla (Ironwood Ridge HS) took home the 1,000-meter national championship with a time of 2 minutes, 30.18 seconds. Freshman Cameron Crandall (Canyon del Oro HS) took fifth place in the high jump with a mark of 6-feet, 10.75-inches.
On the women's side, sophomore Megan Schiffmacher (Cactus HS) tied for fifth place in the high jump with a jump of 5-feet, 5.25-inches on her second attempt. Freshman Anahiramar Lopez (Tucson HS) tied for seventh place in the high jump at 5-feet, 5.25-inches on her third attempt.
The All-Americans were selected based on the top 8 finishes at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships last week in Lubbock, TX.
The Aztecs begin the outdoor season on Mar. 16-17 at the Willie Williams Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona. Events begin on Friday, Mar. 16 at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday the 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.
