National champion Schiffmacher signs to Carson-Newman University

Pima Community College women's track & field athlete Megan Schiffmacher (Cactus HS) signed her four-year university letter of intent while at the NJCAA Division I National Championships.

Schiffmacher, a sophomore jumper, will continue her education and collegiate career at Carson-Newman University, an NCAA Division II institution in Jefferson City, TN.

Schiffmacher was the NJCAA Division I Outdoor national champion in the high jump as a freshman as she finished with a jump of 5-feet, 8.25-inches. She was also the NJCAA Region I champion in the high jump last season. Schiffmacher closed out her Pima career as a three-time NJCAA All-American in the high jump. She earned two nods in the outdoor season and earned All-American status at this season's indoor nationals.
