Stallworth Nets 25 Points as Women's Basketball Win 10th Straight

The Pima Community College women's basketball team (16-3, 10-1 in ACCAC) broke open a big lead in the third quarter as the Aztecs won their 10th straight game on Saturday at the West Campus.

The Aztecs cruised to a 77-55 win over Scottsdale Community College (11-8, 6-5). They have won 11 of their last 12 games and are 10-0 in games played at the West Campus gym.

The Aztecs led 38-25 at halftime but started the third quarter on an 8-0 run. It turned into a 14-2 run with a little over five minutes gone by in the quarter to make it 52-27. The Aztecs capped off the third on a 10-2 run to make it 62-36. Pima outscored Scottsdale 24-11 for the quarter.

Freshman Sydni Stallworth (Palo Verde HS) scored nine points in the first quarter and finished the game with a team-high 25 points. She went 5 for 8 from the field and was 11 for 12 from the free throw line. Sophomore Taylor Blue (Peoria HS) scored 11 points with five rebounds and two steals. Sophomore Kristin Baldwin (Thatcher HS) had nine points and eight rebounds while fellow sophomore Shalise Fernander (Flowing Wells HS) had eight points and eight rebounds.

The Aztecs will play their next three games on the road as they start at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Wednesday. The game starts at 5:30 p.m.
