Standout Cates signs to Kentucky Wesleyan

Pima Community College women's basketball player Bree Cates (Combs HS) signed her national letter of intent on Tuesday.

Cates, a sophomore guard, will continue her education and collegiate career at Kentucky Wesleyan College, an NCAA Division II school in Owensboro, KY.

Cates played and started in all 31 games for the Aztecs as she averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per games. She was named third team All-ACCAC and second team All-Region I, Division II. Cates was also named NJCAA All-Academic third Team.

She helped the Aztecs to a 23-8 overall record and a second place finish at the Region I, Division II tournament. She played her freshman year at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
