Double-double forward Bribiescas signs to Pima
The Pima Community College women's basketball team signed a standout forward who averaged a double-double her senior year.
Shauna Bribiescas, a 5-10 forward from Dobson High School in Mesa, signed her letter of intent to play for the Aztecs starting in the 2017-18 season. She led Dobson to a 20-9 overall record and averaged 15.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 4.4 steals per game.
Bribiescas was named the 6A East Valley Region Player of the Year and Co-Offensive Player of the Year. She was also named 6A East Valley Region first team All-Region and AIA 6A first team All-Conference.
"Shauna comes from a basketball family. Her toughness, skill and basketball IQ are going to serve her well as she makes the transition to college basketball," Pima women's basketball coach Todd Holthaus said. "Her versatility and ability to play multiple positions will give her plenty of opportunities to play."
