The Pima Community College women's basketball team signed a standout guard from Safford High School.

Crystal Haase, a 5-5 guard from Safford, AZ, signed to play for the Aztecs starting this fall.

Haase helped lead Safford to a 19-7 record this season in which she averaged 16.9 points, 3.2 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She was named the 3A Central Region Offensive Player of the Year. She was also selected 3A Central Region first team All-Region and 3A second team All-Conference.

"Crystal is tough. She is a quiet leader but her play speaks volumes," Pima women's basketball coach Todd Holthaus said. "She is skilled on both ends of the court and a great teammate. We are looking forward to her filling holes left behind by last year's departed sophomores."
