California duel sport athlete Long signs to play Pima basketball

The Pima Community College women's basketball team signed another potential team-leading point guard.

RyLeigh Long from Valley View High School in Moreno Valley, CA, signed her letter of intent to play for the Aztecs.

Long, a 5-5 point guard, led Valley View to a 22-7 overall record while she averaged 11.7 points, 5.4 assists, 3.8 steals and 2.9 rebounds per game.

Long was a 2017 Scholar Athlete along with being first team All-League, All-CIF Honorable Mention, team MVP and team captain. 

Long also played volleyball and was first team All-League in 2016.

"RyLeigh has basketball in her blood. Both of her parents are high school coaches and RyLeigh knows the game," Pima coach Todd Holthaus said. "A floor general in the true sense of the word, RyLeigh loves getting her teammates involved in the action. Aztec fans are in for a real treat when they see RyLeigh on the court."
